Replying to DJ

Okay so I really want to try djaying, I don't mind putting in the time, but how many hours before you can beatmatch with confidence, (I have a pretty good sense of timing rhythm, I've played sax in some funk/ska bands etc) and, whats the best kind of music to learn with, I'm guessing something like funkyhouse, nice steady pitch and tempo, any words of advice etc would be super helpful (I searchbared it but there was nothing too similar to this question)
