I've been looking for a job for a while now. I've put in a butt load of application and had some interviews put have not got anywhere. Any ideas as to how I should get Job offer besides cut off my shaggy hair which is happening today.
yeah I have not been able to find a job either. I'm going back to my school apartment because of it, hopefully I'll be able to find a job there.
it makes sense, though. thousands of college/high school students in your area are scouring the land looking for jobs. and even if you have prior experience, so do many others. its hard to set yourself apart.
ive had a lot of problems too. i found a job in a week or two after i got home. i worked 2 days then left for a trip and find out the company had a big layoff so i lost that job. now 3 weeks later i think i finally secured another one but its a 45 minute drive. its super shitty
Lots of folks are having problems getting jobs but dont let that discourage you one bit. Put your in application and make sure you call them back a day or two later to show them that you're really interested in it. They like that a lot. Just keep on it and remember first impressions are everything.
i finally nailed down a job after about a month of searching. it's a pretty brutal time to be looking for jobs, especially for the lower-tier jobs that 90% of NS'ers will be looking for....... those types of jobs are the first to dry up when the economy shits the bed.
your best bet is to be persistent as fuck. just keep applying to everywhere, and if it's a job that you're specifically qualified for (like a computer job or something more than unskilled labor), call them back and follow up on your application.
I'm in the same boat, Ive applied to 5 stores and non of them have called or anything, i might get an interview next week but its a group interview so its pretty competitive like. Should I still apply to more stores and see who wants me or?, it's gonna be pretty much my 1st real job so that's kind of a disadvantage.
look on craigslist.com. people post up seasonal jobs to hire kids/anyone, and they also do like one time jobs like help with emptying moving vans and stuff for like $15 an hour. just go to the website, click what state you live in and then a place close to you and there will be millions of random people looking for employees. theres also prostitution and escort services always looking for new employees on that site if you flow that way
