Replying to Final Cut Pro vs. Adobe Premiere Pro

From people who have experience using both, I'd like your opinions. What are the pros and cons of these two video editing programs, which emerges the ultimate victor?

Note: I'm trying to determine what my college laptop is going to be. The video editing capabilities is the deciding factor. All my life I've been heavily biased against Macs, in fact I hold a deep contempt for them... but if Final Cut Pro is significantly superior to Premiere...
