Salomon makes pretty nice helmets now too.
They have the typical removable visor, but a much nicer chin strap. I've had a problem with the cloth covering on the chinstrap falling apart on a couple of giro helmets i've had in the past.
The salomon patrol has some nice and warm faux fur on the inside of the helmet. At first i htought the fur would be really low quality and I would have little hairs frozen to my face and head, but I have worn the helmet for about one season and have had no such problem. Although the helmet does come with a salomon beanie to wear underneath to keep or noggin toasty, I've never had to wear it, even on days that got below -20 degrees F in Minnesota. For $120 its pretty pricey for a helmet, but if you buy it you won't be dissapointed.
