Whose skiing will be affected by gas prices?

So... with gas prices reaching pretty high amounts(about 4.30 in CT for regualar) who probably isnt gona be able to ski as much as they want this winter. my home mountain is about 20 miles away and i get maybe 23ish miles to the gallon so thats around 10 bucks just to get there because i need atleast 91 octane gas. i just dont know if i could make that trip 3-5 times a week anymore with these prices.
this sort of a rant but how do all of you NSers think the price of gas will affect your skiing if it even will

dude dont you pay really low prices anyway because your government refuses to tax it as it doesn't want to piss off the voters/ take any responsibility for its carbon footprint (no offence man not aimed at you!) but ye i just worked it out in england, for a us gallon of diesel for us it would be $9.60
comparitavely petrol is still pretty cheap over there i think!

It already affected my skiing this season. I missed at least 3 weekends because I didn't have anyone to go up with and split the gas. It was late season, but one of those weekends had pow and I'm pissed I missed it.

well gas was at .92 a liter when i started driving and now on average its 1.17 which is .25.
i use about 45 - 50 liters a week so over a year im spending 582 pounds more on gas than i used to.
so a new pair of ski's or jacket n pants or many olther peices of equipment that usuall need replacing after a season.

23 miles from the hill? chances are it won't keep you from going. 91 octane? you just need a beater for commuting that takes regular.

Almost everything will be affected by gas prices. Anything that uses fuel to power equipment, any business that needs trucks to carry good - in fact anything with a loigistics function will be hit.

Yeah, I don't really want to buy a car now because of the price (1.30 a liter), and my mom sure as hell doesn't want to drive me there.
Busing takes 2.5 hours while driving takes less than one, so I'm getting screwed.

considering my mom still has to take my younger bro up most weekends, I don't think its gonna affect next season much. But yeah, I definitely cannot afford to drive myself up though.

Didn't read any posts except the title - Everyone's skiing will be affected by gas prices - running lifts = using electricity - powered by gas/oil/non-renewable resources (primarily)
If not that, everyone has to make some sort of travel unless you live in a resort (lucky fuckers)
Even then, skis, clothing, bindings, is all made from oil, and has to be transported in lorries that run on...fossil fuels!
So to cut a long story short, everyone is affected. End thread.

are you serious? last week,? CT has like the highest gas prices in the country. Granby ma? it hold strong at 3.93 in northampton, right now. I'm praying it's won't hit 4
and yay i def won't be driving to jay peak as much this winter, if something doesn't change. it's getting kind of scary everything is going up sooo much

its going to affect everyone no matter how far you live from the resort. the rise of oil costs will affect prices with food, transportation, production of pretty much all our goods. if this shit doesn't ship shape up soon we'll all be more worried about other things than skiing. everyone should buy local, reduce, reuse, recycle, promote/support sustainable products and try to have an overall more conscious approach to how we're living.

yeah for me its exactly one gallon to get to and from the mountain,
soo i guess ill just have to sacrifice some cheese fries to pay the $4.30 4-6
times a week. the way i see it since i work at the mountain and get
about 8-9 an hour ill just try and balance how much i work with how often i just go up to chill with friends and hopefully ill come up even and actually make some money
