Hey all,
Aight, so it's almost summer up here in northeastern Washington and southern B.C, but thank's to last years epic winter in tha PNW, there is still tons of snow left up in the alpine, and given it doesn't seem to be melting super fast, I was thinking a "poor man's ski camp" sort of deal might be in line; AKA rally a crew, head up to Kootenay Pass, Whitwater, or maybe even the Kokanee Glacier Provincial Park [legal??] and build some kickers and do some hiking. I was skiing up at Kootenay Pass in southern B.C about 40 min's from where I am living in Washington for the summer [little tiny town called Metaline Falls, like 10 minutes from Canada haha...], and the snow was still awesome, good 30-60+ inch base in most areas up high, the south side of the pass was perfect spring corn. So given I'm too old/poor to go play in Whistler or on Mount Hood this summer, let's rally some Nelson locals and maybe even some Northeastern WA twin tippers [do you exist? help!] and do this shiitttt..... I've been going skiing in Southern B.C every weekend the past 3 weeks and it's been great, just wish I could kind some peeps to go with. Plus I want to party in Nelson becuase there ain't shit to do here in Metaline Falls [pop. ~300 or so], other than drink and enjoy the nice scenery. I've got an AT-setup, Avy Gear+experience, and am also majorly stoked on doing some mountaineering this summer in B.C and the Cascades... Interested in alpine multi-pitcvh trad, glacier routes, ect... PM me and we can trade climbing/mountaineering resumes and maybe plan a trip. But I digress. anyways.......so Poot Man's ski camp is tenatively going down at Kootenay Pass next Saturday.... help me out Canadiam Brethren, I don't want to be the only one there haha....
Peace,
Phil.
