Im in 9th grade and take German. I was looking in to it and it seemed pretty cool and interesting. You go to Germany for 2 weeks and live with your exhange student for 2 weeks and they come to America for 2 weeks and stay with you.
Anybody ever done anything like this before? Was it worth it?
It seems like one of those once in a lifetime things that you will always remember.

I haven't done it but my school offers it for about $2,000. I have heard that it is really fun and you get wasted as hell when your in Germany. Everyone that has done it has said nothing but good things about it. My advice would be to definitely do it. You learn more in those two weeks than in months in a classroom.

You should PM parkerhouse because he did this last year, and I know he's hosting Germans here in a few weeks.
I also took German in high school, and was given the same opportunity. But my parents simply couldn't afford it, and I had to stay back while everyone else went. I'll tell you, it was one time that I was really down in the dumps. I wanted to go soooooooooo bad, and it just didn't work out for me. So please, take this opportunity and go! Experience it, cause it no doubt will be a great adventure and a new experience to put in your belt.

my school did a similar thing but they did it for longer, like 3 months in aus an 3 months wherever the exchange was being organised from.
2 weeks seems a bit short

I stayed with a German family in Berlin, but that was only for a week. I did live in Germany for 3 years though, and I would highly recommend you visit at the least.

Is it more fun to go without your friends since you'll be meeting other people?

if you go with your friends you guys might seclude to eachother and not really meet as many people.
I have to say immersion is THE way to go when learning a language.. I learned more in a month of French immersion camp than I did in three years of school. And no I'm not homosexual; French camp is actually fuckin rad.
