if someone on one end of a phone line, shot the phone with a gun, would the person on the other end hear the gunshot?

im not sure but im gonna say yes, because its the actual shot that makes the noise not the impact. In the split second where the bullet is in the air im pretty sure the sound would make it through because bullets dont move faster than the speed of sound. It depends on the distance the shooter is from the phone too i guess because if he had the barrel right up on the receiver i dont think it would make a sound

i think it depends on how close the gun is to the phone because id have to imagine if its like point blank it would be too close to the bullet shredding the mic, but if it were farther away it would probably get transmitted befor the phone died

man thats a good question. i'd say that you would barely hear anything, just a sound like when someone hangs up a phone.

if the bullet is traveling faster than the speed of sound then no u wouldnt hear it

Wrong, Bullets fly wayyyy faster than the speed of sound, well atleast most I would believe.  Some really low calibers might not, but I highly doubt it.  So no, the phone line would just go dead.
