Need to edit/"clean" A song, can anyone please help???
For an end the year school project, I'm working on a powerpoint of the Sierra Leone Civil War, and want to use the song "Propoganda" by Dead Prez in the background. Problem is, I can't find a clean version of the song, and there's a word or two in the song I don't feel like showing to my whole class. If anyone know a simple way to edit this, or could help me/do it for me, I would be very greatful. I don't have a clue how to do it.
Basically, I need to get rid of anywhere it says shit, fuck, ass, or nigger, a total of 5 places in the song that need to be edited/bleeped out, or just make the track stop playing for like half a second so you don't hear the word. Thanks.
Download Audacity and open the copy of the song you have. It'll show you the wave form for the song. When you get to a swear word, you can replace it with whatever you want...silence, random stupid sound, etc.
Okay, I've got my track open, and I placed the cursor/bar over the point in the song that I need to edit out, but when I scroll over the "Generate" toolbar button, all the options, silence, white noise, etc... are greyed out and can't be selected. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
