if your knee really hurts bad do but if you can live withthe pain do it. if you wear a brace all the time, your knee gets week and when you stop using it, it becomes really easy to reinjure it.
A full-on brace can be overkill for a lot of injuries. After my knee surgery I got by with just an Ace bandage wrapped around my knee, then slowly worked my way out of that so now I'm skiing without any support at all. It doesn't take much to significantly stabilize your knee, so definitely give some sort of wrap like that a try.
If it gives you more confidence and/or peace of mind then wear it. It's more mental for me. And it's not like the brace is going to save you from re-injury, I know this first hand.
