What to expect from living in a dorm?

I'm graduating from high school here in a few days, and it looks like i'm going away for university next year. Kinda worried but really excited (I'll be far away from any mountains, so weekday ski trips will be impossible :( ).
My question to you guys who have been through this, what can I expect party wise? Is it stressful living in a dorm ? Difficult to meet people?
Any advice you have to share?

I cant wait to live in a dorm!!. Can u smoke weed in your room of you want or do they actually kick people out and shit for that? or is vape the way to go?

Yeah I wasnt only planning on partying in dorms like im down for anywhere but like i wanna have a fat party the first or second night i move in and meet people

haha duuude, uvic parties are dam fun. i went and visited a friend there for a weekend this year, and holly shit sooo many hot girls. like not kidding 3 to 1 ratio. I visited helmken res incase anyone cares. never been to parties at ubc so i dunno but i hear they arent nearly as good as uvic. I know people that go to everyschool around this area, and uvics overal a great school to go to. but ya it also depends what you want to take...
