i had to read it for grade 10 english ......i'm canadian i thouhg it was pretty bad the part at the end with tom making all the obstacles to free jim was just retarted and a waste of paper so..... you can keep your american classic

Easily. Nobody calls out white supremacists/slave owners as hard as Twain did in his era. That alone is ballin to me.

haha its one of the biggest classics, the whole lifestyle it explains and the way the two races interact with each other, kind of showing that the naive kid can like the black guy but that society frowns upon it but that the black dude is actually cool and the kid was right to like him. its a classic because it explores a problem in society of that time, kind of like how to kill a mockingbird fights racism
