Anyone flying Air Canada to summer camp...

Just so everyone knows Air Canada changed their baggage policy and if you are flying economy, or the cheapest, which i know i do all the time. You can only bring one bag. This only applies to people who booked their flights after may 15th. so if you booked your flight more then 2 weeks ago you are ok, but if you are one of those people who waits to see if you can get a better deal and you havnt booked a flight yet, you will have to pay extra money to bring your skis! just a heads up. i dont know if other airlines are doing this also...but probably.

Also a note....it says if you booked before may 15th or are traveling after july 15th, i am going to camp from july 11-19th but because i booked my flight in march its ok, i just got off the phone with air canada to clarify because it was not that clear on the website.

you know....as a son of two employees...I agree with you to a certain extent...but air canada has been ranked the best airline in the world many many times....I have flown on more than 10 different airlines...and other than Thai Airways, Air Canada has consistently been the best experience

air canada is the only airline to not lose my luggage yet.....plus its really the only direct way to fly from boston to whistler...

Qantas, Singapore and Virgin Atlantic have all been great experiences for me, but I agree with you, of all the North American airlines, I'd take Continental & Air Canada

Actually as far as I have found, Air Canada is way better then most US based airlines, though I still prefer WestJet to fly in NA. Almost all airlines have made the change to charge for extra baggage.

My view is biased, though, since I have the frequent flyer perks from Continental and my opinion is based on the occasional flight with Air Canada.

flights in the US are pretty horrible pretty much across the board. i flew on El Al and that was the shit. they feed you so much

Air canada is part of the star Aliiance. Its a group of airlines and its the biggest in the world. I'm 99% sure that that new policy is on all airlines in the alliance. Theres another alliance called skyteam, i know delta is in them but i don't know who else is. for those who haven't booked their flight, check the skyteam alliances airlines and see WITH FEES if it ends up cheaper. REMEMBER FEES DON"T SHOW UP IN THE SEXY PRICE ON PRICELINE,TRAVELOCITY, or THE AIRLINES WEBSITE UNTIL YOU ARE ABOUT TO BUY THE TICKET>

Emirates are the best by far, i might be a bit biased because my dad works for them and i get free flights with them everywhere but really, they let on your skis no trouble cause their aircraft are huge,they have a extreme sports section on the inflight entertainment system and it had a snowboarding/skiing movie on it last time aswell as first decent.

The Air Canada that is rated highly is the International Traveller portion of Air Canada. Which I will admit, is quite good. I flew business class from Vancouver to Frankfurt on Lufhansa and returned in business class from London and found the experience to be quite similar. Lufhansa had slightly better cabins (newer aircraft).

However I WILL NOT fly Air Canada within Canada unless I absolutely have to. And I haven't flown Air Canada since 2004. Go Westjet Go!

i had the worst flying experince of my life on Lufhansa. the food was horrible even by airline standards. the stewardess was rude. and i was flying from boston to paris and somehow my luggage ended up in germany. i will never fly Lufhansa if it is absolutely avoidable.
