hey so here has had a honda element. its one of many cars im looking at and want to know what people think as far as driving up mountains and how they handle in the snow. also anything else you wanna mention. i know there kinda ugly, but the black ones are legit i think
my best friend has one, and they are the shit. You can wash the inside with a hose, there isnt any fabric/leather on the inside, yet it is unbelievably comfortable.
Oh the elments are bad ass i almost got one, but decided not to just based on i didnt really like how the older ones i can afford look on the outside, but the newer ones are pretty legit i really like the stadium seating, (where the people in the back seat can see over the front seats) and when u lift up the back seats its like a fuckin house....huuugee
i have one, a black one so its not AS ugly. I havent gotten stuck in the snow once and i drove up to the mountain atleast 2 or 3 times a week. The awd is great specially after i put some cooper discovery atr tires on it which have way more tread then the wranglers it comes with.
The interior is real cool though. it has a ton of room for everything and the thule roof racks you can get are real legit, they just snap on and off so you dont have to drive around with them on all the time. The interior is real durable too. mines an 04 and you can hardly tell its 4 years old.
if you were driving a v6 or v8 this will def be a big change because the 4 banger isnt real fast. it has no problem cruising on the highway but accelerating real fast isnt going to happen (not that you really would in an element anyways).
I like it alot thoughits a great car for basically anything and i get like 22mpg around town and like 24 on the highway if im doing under 75, so its decent on gas too. I tow around some little motor boats and sailboats with it too and it tows pretty well, doesnt really slow it down that much within its towing capacity. plus the seats fold down to make a bed too haha
what year was yours? because mine has 2 drainage holes by the front drivers and passenger side doors so it all goes right out. you have to make sure they dont get clogged with shit.
a gust of wind on the highway really kills any car too, even driving my dads tahoe on a windy day will send you drifting into lanes, obviously its a little worse in the element because its a lighter car but it happens to pretty much every suv.
it does have a lot of blind spots which are a little annoying, but you get use to it. def not as blind as some of the cars ive driven like a g35, crystler pacifica, eclipse etc
its nice if you sit up front, but my buddies parents have one and sitting tn the back really sucks,
theres alot of leg room and everything, but its really uncomftorble(sp) especially for long drives
but you hould be alright cause you'll prolly always be driving or shotgun since its your car...
their car is a couple years old to, the new ones might be better.
