there's pre bang, bang , and afterbang. It's used to describe stages of a trick or line. Not to describe someone doing an overdone forced landing. for example

"that edit was sick, but some of the afterbang was a little too forced on those tricks"  -correct use

"afterbangs are so hot right now" -incorrect use

"afterbang is in right now" -correct use

steezin all the way through the trick with style and landing clean without extra movement. helps when you look at the camera too. or do some sweet gang signs, duh.

its the rideaway from a trick, some people have a certain style of rideaway, just like when they are in the air

^ or snowboarders have been doing it for years and it took skiers a while to catch on (read: afterlame, a great snowboard flick from 4 years ago making a play on words with the name) and whatever haters, jibberish has afterbang because they can. not everyone drags their hands on the snow landing switch, or has to go backseat to land normal.

the whole concept of naming the landing is fucking retarted

its jus steeze   if its forced then it looks bad  but its basically jus a claim after a stomped trick

people hate on afterbang like its an issue,  afterbang looks way better then a shitty handdrag landing

most kids do it to make it look legit and it shows that the skier is in control

stop making such a big deal about afterbang  jus cuz most kids on the site are shittty

to me there is  four different ways of landing.

1= stompe the shit out of it.

2= land clean

3= land sketchy

4=fall



Rigth now people care too much about riding away and no matter how they land they pretend they stomped the shit out of it by taking the body position they would have had if they would have stomped it clean after they skletched out a little (or a lot).

Vanular, Wallisch and Delorme are stomping the crap out of tricks and when they land  they just dont move at all. ( See shiest d cab 10 at his second usopen big air domination for a good example) Hornbeck is pretty good at that too but he took it to another level wich is even tho I stomped the crap out of something  I'm gonna start letting my body flow with the wind.

There is nothing wrong in stoming yur trick wityh a little claiming action going on but if you dont stomp it  and took your knees to the chest, afterbanging and standing straight up and claiming the landing is what afterbang have become.

It would be so much better if people could just raise their right handwith one finger up claiming number 1 if they land like in the #1 atated above.

If you dont land perfect then you might as well claim it  with the finger in the air instead of afterbang cause nobody takes a #1 claim seriously cause e're all #1 we're skier god damn it.

the funny thing about afterlame is that it was david benedek's first attempt at a docu-style movie and it was better than any msp or tgr vid ever. and of course 91 words for snow was the killer follow-up to that.
