Replying to Fill In the Blanks: Quiver Advice Game
So, it's summer and I'm getting bored. I know its really early, but it doesn't matter, I'm already thinking about next season. I know other people out there are too! I thought I would make a thread for everyone out there who is looking into filling out their quiver and wants advice. Its pretty simple, just list your current quiver, details about you, and what possible skis you're looking into. Then people (who have hopefully riden the skis in question) can give advice.
People might think this is stupid, it doesnt matter. Play if you want to, and if you dont, just give me advice!
To start out, I'm about 5'9" and 175lbs. Not the most aggressive or athletic skier, but would like to change that. I spent the past season around Banff with a few trips to Kicking Horse and Revelstoke. Next season i'll hopefully (fingers crossed) live in Revelstoke and ski lots of pow there and at Kicking Horse.
My Quiver:
170 XRC Chips - I'm from the ice coast, so I like to rip groomers sometime
174 Foil w/ p12 - This was my everyday ski, going to be a rock ski next year
188 Jp vs. Juliens - To be mounted with Barons or Freeride + as a touring ski.
Funshape Pow Ski - ???
Charger - ???
So I'm hoping to pick up a funshape pow ski for sure. Right now I have it down to Donner Partys, ARGs, Praxis or possibly some S7s. Open to other suggestions. Really I just want a fun pow ski that can slarve all around the mountain on a pow day. I like throwing em sideways, slashing features and all that good stuff.
Also looking at picking up a ski thats more of an everyday charger. Something stable and thats really "stompable." So far I'm looking at ANTs, Mojo 105s, M1s, LP. I'm not quite sure if i dont want to go a little wider on this one , like Steezes, P4s or Motherships. This just has to be a really good ski in chop and crud, something stable and skiable I can ski anything more than a few days after a storm.
If funds are tight this summer I might just pick up a pair of EHPs or Motherships to try and do it all though.
That was longwinded, thanks for any advice.
