DO NOT see this film, if you hope to preserve the other films integrity.Â

To tell you the truth after a long break Indiana Jones still got it. However, I can't get EVEN STEVENS outta my F'n head. Everytime I see Shia, I think of disney channel and him making an ass of hilmself.
otherwise I rate the movie 7.635/10.000
(it's best when three decimals are used)

movie wasnt as bad as i was expecting. first half or so was decent, they kind of lost me on the second half and shit. they could have made some of that shit was cooler had it not been so... so... the way it was. But i enjoyed it. last 10-15 minutes were not really my cup of tea. good to see some good ol soviet commi bad guys though. but Raiders of the lost ark forever

what was wrong with it? I personally really liked the movie.
Stop complaining that the special effects ruined it. If they had this technology when the original 3 were made they would have used it.
I agree that Harrison Ford was older, BUT the movie was placed in 1957, 20 years after the others. It followed the time frame really well. And glowing alien skulls ZOMG.... anyone ever see Temple of Doom?...glowing rocks? the plot was similar.
all you guys with too much time on your hands go into the movies EXPECTING it to suck because it's not a classic. of course it's not a classic, it's brand new. Raiders of the Lost Ark wasn't a classic when it first came out. Stop flipping out that Hollywood is ACTUALLY using new technology.

I liked it. It was fun. In every movie in the original trilogy they explored a strange legend that turned out to be true. This one followed suit. It was certainly very Indiana Jones-esque.
The people expecting a serious, realistic movie obviously hadn't seen the first three films.

if they had left out the stupid real alien and the spaceship, it would have been a decent movie. The alien completely ruined it. they should have stayed as skeletons.
And for all those hating on shia, he's not thaaaaat bad.

no its not..
I liked this movie, i did not like the ending however.. i dont want to say why but lets say it got a little too sci-fi and didnt stick the the classic adventur ending..
If you liked the indiana jones movies you will like 90% of this one.. i Really liked that 1st 90% of the movie... However i was dissapointed he only used his whip like 2 times..

Alright so... basically, I can deal with alien skulls, it's fucking Indiana Jones people, are you kidding me? An actual alien is pushing it... but whatever, I mean people make mistakes. But he only uses his whip twice!? Fuck this movie. God dammit.

I really have got to give ford huge credit for still being able to play the roll of indy so well at 65. the new indiana jones was too hollywood for me I find. it had its momments. but at the same time there were waay to many cheesy ass scenes. too many times I found myself thinkinh "oh commmonnnn". It was a rather large disapointment, but not because it was unrealistic. I mean in temple of doom that random crazy dude rips some prisoners heart out, meanwhile the guys still alive and his heart is still beating and they send him screaming to his death in a firey pit of hell. whats realistic about that? but it was still sick. it was convincing. thats the thing about this new movie, it just isn't convincing. all while this movie is set in the 50's you completely forget about that during some parts of the film. and even like the russian militarys outfits dont seem convincing because the movie was shot in such good quality its almost like you feel like you can see flaws in it. even though they're probably dead on. basically the movie just doesnt fullfil the expectations or vibes that you got after watching the previous 3 jones movies. and thats why i am dispointed. I would still recommend the movie, just dont go in expecting to see something hoping it will be entirely like the previous 3!

I thought it was gay how they tried to make it funny at parts and the alians just completely ruined it. it just wasn't serious at all. the originall 3 were so much better

I was going to see it, but instead I spent the money on a ticket for Harold and Kumar: Escape From Guantanamo Bay.
It was epic.

i saw indiana jones the day it came out with my whole rugby team (about 25 kids) and only one person liked it. It was a huge dissapointment. I hated how Spielberg tried to combine indiana jones with aliens. In the last 10 minutes when the rock tornado turned into a UFO and flew away everybody on my team was like WTF?????

it is nowhere on par with "Last Crusade." Indy 4 is entertaining but during the last fifth of the movie it loses all credibility with the aliens and the jungle highway and swashbuckling between cars (which is really cool though).

It wasn't serious enough?!?! Have you seen the first three movies? They were full of little jokes and slapstick comedy. This movie had plenty of that, just like the first ones.
And to those people complaining about aliens and them not having a place in this movie I ask you what about the spirits in the Ark, the hears being ripped out and people still being alive, and 700+ old man with the Holy Grail. All the movies(including this one) have had elements that are fantastical yet rooted in modern myths/tails/legends. It fits in just as well as all the other movies. And to say that this movie went too far into that realm is to discredit the entire series.

no, Im afraid the mans right. Even harrison couldn't save this one. It was doomed the minute that Shae LaBoufe started swinging from vines with monkeys

No one mentioned Shae LaBoufe swinging from vines with monkeys... I mean my friend said it seemed like someone smacked the director in the head with a driver halfway through the movie and the whole thing was ruined when "they" started swinging on vines... but I figured "they" at least referred to Indy, who is admittedly pimp enough to swing on vines... but Shae? And WITH MONKEYS!? Fucccckkk...

well the movie i think somewhat intentionally doesn't take itself seriously...but Shea truly ruined it for me...I can never watch him and take anything he does mildly seriously...i just picture him being an idiot and playing stupid little pranks on his sister in even stevens....

Dark Knight WILL ROCK YOUR WORLD, there is a screener floating around, gl trying to find it.
And yes Heath Ledger will make you wet, man or woman, he killed it so hard as the joker.

Come on people, the movie really wasn't bad. In fact, it was damn good. Everyone's saying there was too much of this or too little of that, but for every complaint I've heard so far the exact same thing could be said of the first three.
Twenty years from now, your children will be saying, "You didn't like Indiana Jones IV when it came out? Why not? It's a classic! Star Wars XXIV, on the other hand...WTF?"

Although I didn't like it too much, you have to look at who made the film. These directors didn't want to make a new movie with new technology and CGI effects instead of characters; they wanted to make a classic, cheesy, NEW Indy Jones movie. You can tell what they were going for just by the way they filmed it... it has the same angles and filming style as star wars. If you go into it knowing it's going to be a cheesy movie with a fun plot and a classic character, you'll like it more.

Oh dude he gets to make out with all the hottest chicks ever. He macked that bitch in disturbia. Dammnnn wwas she ever fine. Honestly I have never really seen more than an episode of Even Stevens so I really don't know Shai as that person. He really wasn't that bad. Plus his leather jacket/bike and switch blade were badass. Total greaser.
Honestly after reading some peoples intellegent well-rounded posts in this thread it has made me realize the movie wasn't bad at all actually. Really.. I just don't think I was ready for Indiana Jones with aliens. Ghosts or something I could have handled. Like someone already said; it was good, it just wasn't what I was expecting.

I have so much respect for Harrison Ford reprising his role as Indiana Jones, but throwing aliens into the Indiana Jones formula wasn't a good idea, nor was it necessary.

Check it, The movie was too modernized. Cyrstal skull, space ship ... Want the fuck.

Again, completely irrelevant. Space ships aren't modern, they're imaginary. They can't be modern, or even futuristic, because they're out of this world and don't exist. This is completely legit given Indy's roots. I don't know how a Crystal Skull classifies as "modern" over, perhaps, an "artifact", something Indy knows quite a bit about, but whatever.
Point is, some little bitch from Disney swung on vines with monkeys and Indy only used his whip twice, and that is the real tragedy of this film.
