anyone have a slingbox solo? i was thinking of getting one for my dorm room, but does anyone know if you change the channel on the slingbox, if it will change the channel on the tv at home? so if i was watching tv in my room at school, my parents would have to watch the same thing?
if you change the channel on the slingbox it changes the channel on the tv, unless your slingbox has a built in tuner.
I personally don't see the purpose of getting the solo over the AV (I have the AV) because the only real difference is HD input. I use my slingbox to watch tv on my cellphone and my laptop, neither of which are going to give me HD resolution, and over the internet you're going to struggle to get that anyway.
Slingboxes are really great though. They do one thing, and they do it really well.
mediocre. I'd compare it to watching a youtube video fullscreened. It doesn't look amazing but it gets the job done and its cool if you don't want to pay for cable or something like that.
my friend had one for his dorm room but took it back cause you need a wireless router and a new cable box, which you just can go to the store and buy, so make sure you read everything you need for it.
thats just my 2 cents
I have a slingbox (don't know which one) but it works magically. I think it is the AV on because my bro and I have it on our computers for school. It doesn't change the channel at home. The only thing is that two people cannot use it at the same time.
not a crap one, Middlebury, but the damn nerds voted down cable like 10 years ago so we only have it in our lounges and i need to get giants and rangers games which we dont get in vermont
