How much does the length of your skis matter

I was wondering; I am 6 ft 1 and 165 lbs and I have 169(cm) movement kamasutra's and 189 Stoeckli Snakes. I know a lot of people on ns think 169 for a very stiff park ski is to short. I was wondering what are the disadvantages of having short skis. I have seen dudes my size with skis around 170 kill switch cork 900 on a 60ft jump in les deux alpes. So I know you can kill it on rather short skis. So what are the benefits of shorter skis.( I am more of a backcountry skier. I can max do a switch 5 mute(claim) in the park is.)

with shorter skis your landings need to be more pinpoint. you may also wash out easier.
style-wise, longer skis look wayyyy better. but just ski with what makes you comfortable

how notible is the difference between a lets say a 170 ski and a 175 ski in a video? And because the kamasutra have a extreme stiff base under the bindings washing out isn't much of a problem.

not much difference at all. but if you have skis that go to your chin vs. skis that go to the top of your head the difference is there

its hard to explain without skiing longer skis yourself, but you have more stability and therefore more confidence.... idk it definitely makes a big difference. once you get used to longer skis though u don't go back to shorter ones
