Summer jib setup question

I want to build a summer rail in my yard (noting big, just to stay ready for winter), and was wondering if I could use this runner rug i have. it's got short plasticky hairs and is pretty thin. If I just put something slippery on it would it work, or do I need astroturf?

Astroturf is more popular. But give it a shot.

It should work, the astro turf I got sounds a lot like that and it works fine
