Apology letter
Dear Mom and Dad:
I want to apologize for the shoplifting incident that took
place about 2 months ago. I understand that even though I only stole a dollar
worth of merchandise from A&P, taking it without paying for it was still the
wrong thing to do. I need to learn that respecting other people’s property is
very important; they work hard to make money so their business goes well. I
will start thinking about things twice before I do them. I understand that
doing this embarrassed and disappointed you, I’m sorry I had to put you through
this and I guess I wasn’t thinking very well when I decided to shoplift. I will
do whatever I’m asked to do. I’ll try to stop lying so much now that I’ve
realized that doing so isn’t the greatest idea, it’ll just make things worse. I
was being selfish and wasn’t thinking of how this whole situation would affect
you. I’m quite lucky that I’m sixteen right now and that I went to the youth
court, if I was eighteen or older I would have gone to the district court where
things are more serious and fines are expensive, I also could have gone to jail
and it would have been on my personal record. I have learned my lesson and will
never shoplift again
Thanks for helping me through this once again, I am really sorry for
embarrassing and disappointing you.
Jean
