Never skiied there, but am seriously considering getting a pass there for next season... anyone got any comments on it, terrain, cliffs, trees etc. any comments would be appreciated
i was up there quite a bit. never crowded, excellent snow, and theres some stuff to drop. definitely not an alta, but still super fun to ride on a good snow day.
SO SICK! i grew up there... my dad was an instuctor there and if you know where your going there is some sweet terrain. and plenty of cliffs and shit just gotta find them like in summit and honeycomb.
Solitude is dope I skied there alot this season. The terrain is just as bad ass as any in LCC and offten is never crowded on sat/sun. Honeycomb canyon is dope lots of good lines/cliffs. The honeycomb bootpack to the peak from the top of the summit chair is the gnarleyst in bounds hike in the wasatch. Season passes are not 1000, they have a tons of diffrent passes (you can pick days ect. or buy ride passes which are great for touring...the cirque is a 20 min skin away..) ha that was alot but its defnitily worth checkin out...oh ya and the bikeing there is dope in the summer.
HA! ^you wish solitude was as gnarly as alta or the bird. I haven't skied there, but I have skinned to the top of it many times from LCC. sorry buddy, solitude is sick, but not as sick as LCC. honeycomb is not that impressive.
there are way more close-out/gnarly-ass/exposed lines/big mother fuckin cliffs at alta and the bird.
brighton and solitude have more intermediate skiing terrain by far. even though brighton is still sick as fuck off milly.
its not quite that much, and if your not a lazy fat ass you can tour out of solitude all year and get tons of vert in for like 250 bucks and can ski WAY MORE acres of fresh powder per year than in the LCC sidecountry since it gets beat so quick...and if you know where to go at solitude there some lines that are just as gnarley (mabey gnarleyer) as LCC. The lines might not be as long as main chute or pipeline but with 1/4 of the pepole there on the weekend its defntiitly worth it
