In a recent philosophical discussion with a close friend, we discussed skiing as a concept. What is skiing? Why is skiing? and most importantly how is skiing?
What we found is that skiing can be compared to many things. Wildlife for example. But the soul of skiing can be found much closer than you think, look on your breakfast table, or in your fridge and you will find it... It is yogurt. In the next few paragraphs I will attempt to enlighten you newschoolers with our thesis. Savour.
Your probably thinking, 'Sure, this sounds interesting, but how have you come up with this, do you have evidence?' We don't, but we are really clever so you must trust us, we are right.
(Above:Bad yougurt pot technique)
In the picture above we see a novice. He is very much unlike a yogurt pot, he is sprawled out on the floor, he resembles spagetti. In comparison we see a 'good yogurt pot technique' skier below. In this we see he is styling and captures the very existence of yogurt. You can tell he has strong bones with a lot of calcium, as do yogurts.
Another observation is that snow is white like yogurts, coincidence? No it isn't. Amazing
Furthermore, the attitude of yogurt is different to other dairy product. Butter and milk lack soul or as we in the philosophy world call it 'Le pin-pin de la vie'. Yogurt doesnt play by the rules. It is a dessert but you can eat it a breakfast or whenever you want. You can ski whenever you want. Yogurt embodies the attitude of skiing and more importantly rule breaking.
Look at this pot, look closer, more closerer. You will see the word ski printed across it. Wow!
I will leave you with my viewpoint on yogurt:
there are two type of food, there are rebels and there are creators. Yogurt plays a rebellious part and bears the attitude of all modern day rebels, it doesn't just ignore the rules, it breaks them. And if that's not being a creator i don't know what is.
