...Way to screw me over, you un-communicative doctors.
Thank you for reading my story, I just needed to get it out there.
And now for the detail.
Last month, I went into Banff for a scheduled surgury on my wrist, it was planned out back in the summer so I would have to go in the day after the hill closed. Back to the surgury day, I go in, scrub up and wait. The nurse told me about the incision they were going to make and the pins that were going in.
Wake up after surgury; wasted, and look at my arm, I have a full soft plaster cast on, fitted so it just goes above my elbow, preventing me from bending and twisting my arm.
Surgeon comes in, told me everything went well and to go back in 8 weeks, thats it.
2 weeks later, I go to the clinic in Golden and see my arm for the first time. What a beauty! Gunk! and these nice, metal pins sticking out of my wrist, 2 of them.
I suggest that the doc calls my surgeon to get any info, he says its fine and gives me a splint. Just the bottom and I can wrap and unwrap it.
Now since they give me these splints, I've had problems, pins moving around in every direction, pain up my arm, through the bone and then the swelling goes up again.
Gunk and puss just started coming out last week, increased pain. So I go back to the Golden clinic. They didn't do anything, just made sure I didn't have an infection.
Get home yesterday, take off the bandage and looked at my arm. GREEN!!!!! Shit looked like boogers coming out of my arm. Show my mom, she calls the surgeons office, give the secretary my symptoms and she says she'll tell the surgeon. Phone call this morning, Doc says I'm infected and that the Golden docs shouldn't have given me the splints.
Sitting at school today, first block was a spare.Worried about the arm, wait in the forum at second block(english). I showed my friend and he said to just go to the hospital and get it looked at. They cleaned it and sent me back over to the clinic. This time (thank God for female doctors!) she looks at it, takes a puss sample and tells me to get get this prescription filled out then head over to the hospital for IV.
Every 12 hours now, I need to check in for IV.
Surgeon says come by on Thursday in Banff.
Possible surgury again, they need to reposistion the pins.
So due to this lack of simple communication, I'm on liquid antibiotics and more surgury.
Thank you for reading, this took awhile to type, since I have one useful hand.
Also, I have no pics and I have already told Hansel
