Shesh. Still hovering at 3.79 here in PA, and it was 3.69 in VT when I left there a few days ago. I thought I was shitting bricks, 4.01?! Fuck me sideways...
you know what question i want every one of those politicians up on the hill to answer...
why did they vote, to stop putting 70,000 barrels a day into the strategic reserve ??
these are the same politicians that say it doesnt make sense to drill anywhere in america, but at the same time they stop 70,000 barrels from going into the strategic reserve and then they tout themselves as helping the little guy, and they are doing something to help all the americans..
If oil companies are making this much money, why the FLYING FUCK ARE WE STILL GIVING THEM SUBSIDIES!? Pisses me off just thinking about it, fuck America.
every summer its the same bullshit the gas goes up a ton then everyone freaks out then it supposedly "goes down" (ha!).in the winter and people are relieved. but it jumped like $3.05 to $3.95 now and it could get to $4 and change by mid summer, then in the fall to mid winter it will only go back to like $3.50 or so.
then the vicious cycle begins again
on my go-ped it doesnt feel as bad when im drivin around. but serioulsy, im goin to have to start donating more than plasma if im goin to drive and ski in the same year... or get a job, but thats just bullshit...
It pisses me off how oil companies use the "We need to charge so much so we can research and set up new drilling sites" argument when we won't let them drill anywhere anyways. Protect the environment? Fuck yeah, I'm not gonna argue. Then don't gouge the shit out of us.
they voted to stop putting 70000 barrels per day into the strategic reserve so those 70000 barrels wouldn't need to be bought by the us government, which would only raise the price of oil further. its a basic supply and demand problem, if you stop buying oil, the price won't rise as quickly with all other things equal. now instead, if they pumped the oil out, the price would fall because there is more supply on the market.
not only all that, but why the fuck would you want our government to take tax money to buy the most expensive oil in history- to stockpile it?
Has any one seen GSTV? As if to slap their big corporate cock across your face (and as a way of saying thanks for all your $$) Mobil has started to install Gas Station T.V. at the pumps, playing ESPN and CNN updates, not to mention ads for stuff inside the Mobil, and normal commercials.
in general, the price of oil will continue to rise. there will be slight drops, but for the most part it'l keep going up. the reason for this is the amount of oil left. the peak of oil consumption vs production has been passed, therefore meaning that there isnt enough left for everyone to keep using. unless the amount being consumed is dropped considerably, the prices of oil will continue to rise until the only people that can afford it will be able too, and most of the world will be left without it. i did a paper on it. look up oil depletion and they'l talk about this curve
Ya my car only runs on Premium. Sucks, but not much you can do about it I guess. We thrive on oil and it will be that way for some time.
On a slightly different note, I put $50 into my tank and filled it the other day, but for some reason I'm already at 1/4 of a tank and I've only gone 130 miles..wtf? That's like 7 mpg, my tank or gauge must be messed up.
that would depend on whether he was a franchise or if he owned the property himself. I highly doubt that an individual owner would have the resources to create his own specific "media channel" for gstv, it's much more likely to be something from corporate.
my point was, why do the law makers think they are doing this great service by stopping the government from buying 70,000 barrels a day? that is only a small dent, on the total number of barrels we use a day... and they voted 97 to1 in favor of this....
now the question i would like answered, why is it worth the time, to stop 70,000 barrels, but it is not worth the time to go and drill for the oil we have??
is it maybe, just maybe, that the politicians in Washington, are concerned with nothing more then protecting their lucrative jobs..
i just spent 20 bucks on a month of transportation, hooray for quality public transportation.
ride the bus guys, especially if your town or city has a decent bus system.
yea, the bus sounds horrible and shit, but its really not that bad except for it can sometimes fuck with your schedule. however, i think very minor schedule conflicts are worth saving hundreds a month in gas.
