Here is my backyard setup.... I built it in the winter and we used snow or ice shaving and we had plenty of speed to hit the rails and throw whatever... but now its summer and i wanna be able to use it.... we've tried the orange construction fence shit thats laying on it now and laundry detergent and water but not enough speed to even make it to the rail/s... I know i can drive to the ice rink which is 30min away to get ice shaving but they are closed for 6 weeks in the summer and in the summer heat it will melt quickly... I've thought about snowgel but its kinda expensive and I would need a lot of it... I've also thought about taking it apart and making the drop-in steeper and also make the transition smaller.... Any ideas or suggestions would be awesome! Thanks for reading.... later
you can always monkey with the inrun. make it bigger/steeper or make the flat smaller. I don't really know bout these things but that seems like a possibility.
or snow from the ice rink, or snowgel (not that expensive, and it actually works... look at papasteez' thread), um i'm blanking on anything else but u'll figure it out
Yeah i'll prob try snowgel... but i can't really find anywhere an amount of time it will last... even on their site their answers vary.. anyone ever try it and have an answer? thanks
i would try getting some big bags of Ice, (go to a gas station, they are cheap)
and if you want to overhaul it, make the in run steeper, but make sure the transition is nice and smooth.
not really sure why someone bumped this a year later to say: "ASTROTURF" ha thanks for trying to help but thats what the wood is covered with and we already made the drop in steeper, shortened the transition, and made the lip not as steep of an angle... since this thread was made over a year ago. soooo no more help is necessary and yes im in build a jib cult.
