so arent backcountry boots supposed to be stiffer and park boots have more flex? then why are the big names like JP Julian and Anthony using the SPK a flexy park boot? and some park guys using boots like lange and nordica?

It also depends partly on the weight and strength of the person using them, so its more personal preference.

its all preference man... some big mountain/backcountry riders will like a stiffer boot because it gives better response and they can charge harder in it while say park riders will like a softer boot because they are more comfortable and would like it to be able to flex to do sick butters and presses and grabs and stuff but thts not to say some backcountry freestyle guys like jp wouldnt want a softer boot if they are hiking a b.c. booter and are getting some sick tricks they want the flex
