i have not read this whole thread yet, in fact, i probably won't. But in a minute here i am going to post my transcript for you. This is for you thinking weed makes you dumb and "is the worst thing you can do to your career."
Let me start by saying in high school i did not smoke weed, but was on adderall for ADD from the doctor. Trying to calm my nerves from adderall eventually led me to weed after high school. Anyways, failed nearly half my classes every year, busted my ass senior year to graduate with a 65 average.
After high school, didn't take SAT's, college never crossed my mind as a wise choice for me, so i moved to mammoth to ski.
Fast-forward 5 years: i am tired of being poor and have found great motivation in skiing through weed, have gotten off adderall and decided to go back to school. I moved back to NY and started to attend a community college. Since the start, i was a stoner, I smoke weed before every class on the way to it, will not go without a bowl before. I do not study or take a test without smoking weed. My fourth semester in Pyschology class i learned there is actually some truth to the Method Man Plan, ( study high + take the test high= get high scores!) things learned in a certain state of mind, even if that state of mind is one of intoxication, is best remembered in that same state of mind (Truth i swear).
Anyways, first semester, just 14 credits, not even trying as hard as i could, missing classes and shit, i ended with a 3.87 cumulative GPA. Since then i have had 3 straight semesters with perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA's, bringing my total current GPA to 3.96.
Pretty good turn-around after switching from doctor prescribed Adderall to weed. In fact, doctors called Adderall the miracle drug even with all of its side effects, and i have no side effects from weed. The only downside to my new plan is that i must hide it because it is illegal, and risk being arrested to get a proper education. And the fact that ignorant inexpierenced people like you judge me and look down on me for personal choice to self-medicate. With all the drugs parents and doctors pump into children these days, i believe marijuana is the least of our worries.
People on anti-depressants, ADD meds or other long-term medications are not frowned upon, yet stoners are. The funny thing is, marijuana cured my ADD and slight depression a million times better than any medication that has ever been prescribed to me, and had no side effects.
Anyways, here's a stoner's transcript for ya, guess smoking weed was the worst decision i ever made for my academic career, eh? it is only community college yes, but weed has opened so many doors for me that were tighly shut and locked prior to using.

Your friends probably have underlying issues like ADD or depression which is the reason for their bad grades, not weed. Were they honor roll students before starting to puff the cheeba?
On another note, i can no longer smoke and ski. I become a pussy, get paranoid and lazy.
