this is rediculous, but i really think im better at skiing when im high, especially park, i get much more bold and creative when im blazed, and its just a combo of the two greatest things ever... skiing high is the sickest

It's not important in my skiing life or my life. I understand that marijuana might not affect some people as much as it does others but its an illegal drug for a reason.

I don't touch the shit, skiing or otherwise.  I'm especially scared of it skiing, because there was this program that came to our school to raise awareness about alchohol and drugs, and there was this chick who snowboarded stoned, and then this one time she got so high, she passed out and smacked a tree, WHILE standing and riding.  And I see it as a waste of money.  I'd rather keep that money and spend it on a pair of skis.

thats probably because your under 12 and still believe the bullshit they try to tell you in school. I respect not smoking but believing a story that a girl was passed out going down a mountain hit a tree is ridiculous.  Marijuana is not some crazy drug that makes you not able to function. You can function like a normal human being. My english teacher recommended smoking weed to me because of my lack of attention.

i hooked him up with a ticket to killington and i met up with him it was midweek and he skipped teaching to shred. and we brought him to the hut we built in woods he saw empty bottles, ciggaret butts and he just opened up to us. He still smokes weed. He said that our afterschool acticitys were like his when he was younger. And i was like yea i get high and go skiing and he was like " I used to take bong rips and play pinball" And all he talked about was weed after that.

You're a fucking jackass.  She was hauling ass, was starting to get drowsy, passed out, caught her edge, and smacked a tree.  She was paralyzed, so I have no reason to believe she'd lie.  And it's not some little faggot class run by a gym teacher.  They take you to the hospital and show you a bunch of heavy stuff, things that usually happened to people WHILE they were under the influence drugs or alchohol.  Weed; while maybe not the cause; was a common factor in the accidents, because there are so many people who use it thinking it's harmless, that they're better at stuff when they're high.  Smoke enough, and it may keep you from functioning like a normal human being.  I have friends who smoke, and some go to class high.  They'll come into class smashed as shit after lunch, and they can't do shit because they're acting like retards.  If you're teacher's telling you to smoke for school, s/he is a retard, cause it won't help.  At all.  Probably do more harm than good.  You need ritalin, not weed.  And I'm 15, so you can just take all that shit and shove it up your ass.

Your friends are lightweights that dont know how to handle their weed. And you obviously dont know what your talking about seeing youve never smoked. Weed helps me concentrate and is good for thinking and brainstorming. I actually have tons of respect for my teacher and ive never learned more from a teacher. And i used to be prescribed to aderal but i couldnt sleep at night soo i stopped taking it. Weed is a good substitute for me because not only does it put me in a better more sociable mood but im actually able to focus after i smoke it. So actually read what i write with an open mind and realize that you are my friend completely clueless.

They aren't lightweights, they just smoke so damn much.  Now that I think about it, I can see where you're coming from.  My friends smoke pretty much because they think it's funny that they can't remember anything from class, if they even absorbed anything worth remembering.  Sorry about the rant, but from what I've seen of weed, not experienced, but seen, weed is the worst the thing you can do to your academic career.  One of my friends is a 250 pound football player.  He worked the entire summer, made 5 grand, and spent 2 grand on weed.  He doesn't do good in school, and neither do any of my friends who smoke regularly.  After seeing that it can get someone that stoked on it, I'm not touching it.  I won't judge you though.  I can totally see where you're coming from with the brainstorming stuff after having thought a little, especially for english, where creativity is basically the name of the game.  Everyone controls themselves different and does things for different reasons.  I just got chapped as shit cause you called me a naive 12 year old.

this entire thread is utterly insane, its like a barrage of 12 year olds trying to be cool by not smoking, and stating facts that they learn from their youth councellors, even though probably half of them are just being sarcastic.

to the thread creator, you are a nut, this was the most nonsensical thread to be ever put in SG.

as a response to the thread however, weed makes skiing really fun, but it still plays no part in my skiing lifestyle. and about the part with tanner hall and his dvd and a 5 sack,  umm... thats hard to answer because it makes little sense.

I don't want people to get the impression that freeskiers are just a bunch of pot heads so I think It would be sweet if people stopped relating directly to their ski life.  Like I understand people like weed but don't act like its part of out sport because it is not.

I'm not going to judge people that smoke (because I will never do it and will get hated on by my friends) but pretty much everyone agrees that weed is bad when it becomes addicting/takes over one's life-affects money, liesure time, relationships etc.

i dont smoke anymore because i just dont feel its worth it, but the stuff they tell u is bull. it isnt addiction is for people who are weak. sure i could see someone running into a tree, but people run into trees skiing sober. and if you get so high that you cant function then u are an idiot because u smoked to much for doing things

sorry i forgot to mention that i have no problem with those who choose not to smoke, but i do have a problem with people who parrot what those drug educator people, the government, and anti-pot ads tell them, how marijuana will make you an unmotivated slob for the rest of your life and a potential crack user.  http://www.abovetheignorance.org
