this morning i saw them as a featured artist on mtv. what do you think this means for them? is it good or bad?
i personally am not sure on whether this will make their music progress, or just make it shitty and mainstream.

their new cd aint bad.... definitely better than you cant imagine, but still nto nearly as good as theyre old stuff. MTV could kill them, but then again i dont think slug will bite the bullet and become some mtv celebrity.

meh. i say good for atmosphere. i dont think theyre the type of fellas who would be"corrupted" or whatever by too much fame. i think slug has a good head on his shoulders. if anything, they will get more fans and money, which they deserve. might get a few more bandwagon fans, but what can you do?

I like the new album. I think they keep progressing and moving in new directions which is good cause the same old thing gets old. They are already pretty popular anyway so I am not really even surprised they are on MTV. If they were going to "sell out" it would have been on this past album, but I am pretty sure they are already making pretty good money what with being the biggest name in underground hip hop.

i got 140+ by him, but yes anthony does play a part in atmos and if u want to get really critical we can talk about his bass, piano, and other instrumental backupS

i think as long as he's not talking about 22's and cappin other crackers in the ghettos of uptown murderapolis then we don't have to worry.... i think all his new shit is dope, its just different and refreshing. strictly leakage, all the sad clown shit, paint that shit gold, it's all amazing. go slug!

im fairly certain sean and anthony are technically atmosphere and are both an equal half in the bunch. except there also used to be spawn too way early on. there was one album that was a compilation that had other producers though. and the headshots dont really count as atmosphere. the legit atmosphere albums are ant and slug.

i had quite the shit-fit when 'you' was the background track to a Hills commercial the other day. good for atmosphere to get the exposure, but it's not like they're that unknown to begin with. i don't know. i just don't want it to go down the way M.I.A did. me and some of my friends (essentially my ns friends) already knew who she was and had been listening to stuff like 'paper planes' for weeks. throw it up on mtv and now every girl we know reps it and requests we play it from time to time. i just hate when shit gets played out, and i think mtv speeds up that process sometimes.
haha my b, /endrant

I just never really got into atmosphere. There were 2 songs I had heard I thought were pretty cool. But most the stuff I've heard, just haven't been feeling it..

M.I.A. was featured
Chromeo was too
And now Atmosphere
none of them caught on around here, or it doesn't seem like it. all their fans from before were either stoked or pissed that they were on MTV. it's a double edged sword to most, but oh well.
