A few drop in questions

How high do I need the drop in to be for a 10 ft long pvc rail (foot high), while using turf + soap + water + maybe orange fence? -5 feet?-6 feet?

And then how long should the ramp be?

For the ramp, will plywood be strong enough with 2x4s on either side? Do I need to put cross wood or anything? - Double up the plywood?

Should I use nails, screws, or screws + bolts?

im wondering the same things as you,


so does any one know if a 4ft high drop in with an 8ft ramp to flat get me going fast enough to own a 10-12 foot rail?

our ramp used to be 4 ' with an 8 foot ramp and it was too slow for a foot high 10 'long pvc rail. bigger is better. our new one is 6 ft.

whats your new ramp length? same angle? im thinking maybe a 10ft ramp with 6ft drop or 5ft with 10ft ramp

haha ours is 3 and a hal ffeet high and we have a ten footer pvc rail with turf and works great.  we had to use cross suppoert just so it doesn't collapse while we are on it.  use screws if you are jsut using 2x4's.  use the 3 inch decking scews as you probably won't be bringing it inside or anything.  they are really strong and are ment for outdoors and they don't rust.
