so i had these (new soft model, not older park model) mounted up with salomon sth 12 bindings. i ride technica boots. i am 165lbs and ski pretty aggressivly, and i felt i pushed myslef pretty hard on these this year with cliffs and switch landings and what not.
anyways, i love this ski and its still in great shape, but my main problem was with ejecting all season. i figured it was because the ski is so soft that it must just flex in a way so my binding doesnt make proper contcat and i come out, but after 3/4 of the season i realized that my then brand new boots had been raped of all its toe and heelpiece squareness, if hyou know what i mean. baisically what had happened is because the ski is so wide, when i would force a hard turn on choppy snow the ski would tilt side-to-side and gnaw away at my boots. i think the main problem though, is that i made a bad choice mixing a salomon binding with a technica boot on a ski that soft. the wear and tear seemed to be only in 4 specific spots on each boot, right on the 4 corners of the toe and heel peices.
so my question for you, educated newschoolers, it for next season i am looking at new boots for one, most likely technica or dalbello, depending on what makes my foot happy, but also im looking at new bindings. im considering marker jesters, or i may use my girfriends old p18 race bindings. has anyone else had a problem similar to this? and does anyone have any advice as to which boot/binding combination has preferable contact as to avoid another pair of wrecked boots? i only figured marker because for one, pollard himself uses them if im not mistaken, and they look like they have a pretty good contact setup especially with a sister company's boot.
thanks to anyone with helpful info!
