SAT's......fuck my life.

I'm taking my SAT's for the first time this Saturday and I'm really not looking foward to it. To make it even worse, they're the same day as my prom. Any tips on how to not get stressed out over the SAT's or some good stradagies.

I'm actually about to head out to teach a SAT class, weird. Uh, this late in the game, not so much. Bring some food to eat during the breaks and make sure to stretch and all every chance you get to keep awake.

Bring food. A good snack. Bring water and/or gatorade to drink. Dont drink energy drinks. Just try and stay focused. If you find your mind wandering get back on track. And just don't stress. You can always take it again... as long as this isn't your third time. Colleges are starting to put less and less emphasis on it so don't worry. But remember, if you do well or well for wherever you want to go it will help you a lot.

 Im taking them this saterday too. Im pretty nervious about it because i havnt taken any real classes inover a year and i have to get a somewhat decent score so i dont get placed in college prep classes at CMC next year

i don't see anything that would relax me like xanax help with SAT's, unless you are super stressed. if anything, pop an adderall xr 30 mg if you can, if you can't get your hands on the goodstuff, get a substitute, that shit will get you wired for a test if you know how to use it.

Yea one of my friends took some aderall(sp?) before the PSAT's and he said he was just so overwhellmed by everything in front of him that he just tweaked out and wanted to concentrate on one thing.

Yeah, colleges don't look at it as much and since this is your first time then no problems, just don't worry about it, go into your first one planning on taking it again, just think about it as a practice test.

Get up earlier than necessary and go out to breakfast. Listen to your favorite music to get psyched up. Go to bed earlier. Relax Relax Relax. If you get too stressed out you'll go crazy during the test.

The whole point is not to stress. If you arent worried about it then you will do better. As long as you don't write it off. You just gotta focus but know it isnt the end of the world. And most importantly... AS SOON AS you leave the test just forget about it. It isnt in your hands anymore so there is no point in stressing. Dont ruin your weekend because you think you did bad. I thought I did really bad the last time I took it and it ended up being my best score.

yep i take them this saturday as well, and i took a two night SAT prep class and it gave me a lot of helpful tips..u might consider finding a class and just doing it, itll be worth it!

dont stress it. 
The SATs arent everything and dont mean the end of the world.  They dont even tell how smart a person is.  All it shows is how well you can take the SATs.  I didnt do good on them at all and i never stressed them. 
Basically just chill.

Actually don't stress it, it's not that bad.  Plus, it doesn't hurt you if you do bad nearly as much as it'll help you if you do well.

well, i was in your situation all stressed out and such, then, it wasnt as bad as i thought. its long, but not too overwhelming. turns out, i scored high enough to not have to take placement tests for college. just concentrate, and take advantage of the breaks

Thats uh... not advisable. While colleges can only see the test score you decide to submit, they can see how many times you've taken the test. Treating the real SAT as a practice test is:

1) A waste of money
2) A shot in the foot
3) A waste of your time

Go to a bookstore. Pick up one of the many kinds of practice SAT books. Some books are just 99.9% accurate to the real deal SAT tests. Sit at home for 4 hours and take one. Grade yourself. See what you miss and what you get right. Doing this is much better than a real SAT because you can see where you fuck up and hone in on your weak spots. Its also cheaper (per test) and colleges wont see how many tests you've taken.

Really, to any kids out there taking the test on Saturday with  "meh, its a throwaway" in your head, DONT TAKE THE TEST. I dont know why so many people do it this way, its just plain retarded.

im taking it too, just relax, if you can get all of the easy question right and some medium questions right you will get a pretty good score. just think like that.

A lot easier said than done.

Keep yourself busy with some exercise today. Don't revise your ass off, it'll only get you more stressed. Do as much as you can, and exercise, then come back and do some more. Hit the sack early tonight.

Yeah I'm taking it tomorrow. I took a class, did the PSAT, and I've been going through one of those practice books, so I'm not too worried about it. Don't stress yourself, because it won't help you, but at the same time make sure you take this shit seriously.

Actually, just listen to Rowen. He's a pro at this stuff.

ive got them tomorrow too, but my school pays for every junior to take them tomorrow because it's neccessary to take them junior year in maine. only for tomorrow though and since we have to go to school tomorrow, we get the tuesday after memorial day off to make it a four day weekend... sweeet for us juniors at mt. ararat high

dont stress homz...im takin them fer my second time nd its not really that bad when u get into it...i aced the essay nd my reading was good soooo all i need to concentrate on is the math...tryin to bring me up over 2000....u can mix and match your tests soo plan on takin it again...dont overstressify it

yeah, i dont get what the big deal about them was... they really aren't bad. i went in there relaxed and got a free breakfast provided by the school and got to eat and chill with friends, then just stayed focused throughout the whole test and it went by really quickly. nobody needs to make a huge deal out of this test.

I took it in 7th grade and beat like 60 something % of college bound seniors scores haha. It's a lame ass way to spend a Saturday. Not looking forward to doing it again in a few years.

Are you sure they only see the test scores you decided to submit?  I thought that was the ACT.  I would be pretty pleased if they only saw the ones you decided to send, and if thats the case does that apply to SAT II's too?
