Replying to Karma......it's legit (read it).
This isn't about NS karma, because that's stupid. It's about real Karma. Here's the story.
Today myself, The Green Goblin, Dave Euler, and C-Blunt Dogg roll to the Gateway (an outdoor shopping mall crawling with bitties) on bikes to get some Free Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream for free cone day. When we roll up the very first person I see is this chubby dude, about 30 years old trying to steal a bike. He looked mad sketchy so I doubled back to see what was up and sure enough he was cutting a lock with some weak wire cutters. Anyway, Being a bike owner, and hating theft I immediately looked for the nearest rent a cop. I told him and we rushed back to see the dude dip around the corner. We're just chilling and we see the guy again walk past us looking at us like he was ready to fight... he knew that we knew. We follow him and confront a security dude directly in front of him. The dude takes off walking fast and after a brief discussion they're after him. That's the end of that.
Next we go to Wendy's to get some food. We're all standing in line bitching about who owes who money for some JBC's. Anyway, a few of us sit down without food. An older man gets up to leave and walks over, hands us $10 and says "Hey... go get yourself some food". Immediately we all look at each other and think "YES! We're going to the liquor store and getting a cheap fifth". After some debate we realize we should give back the money to the community. We flip a coin and sure enough it told us to buy 9 JBC's and deliver them to any homeless person we see. We rolled through downtown SLC giving burgers to homeless people and it was one of the most rewarding feelings. Much better than getting shitty drunk and forgetting your night. Everytime we asked "Hey, do you want a burger" their eyes lit up and they immediately indulged. Soooo, I think it's a cycle. We helped keep a bike thief off the streets, and then got free ice cream, and also got $10 for some food, which we gave back to the community by feeding the needy.
I highly recommend keeping this in your mind when faced with a similar situation.
END.
