Its that time again yes when everyone is putting up end of season edits and whatnot, but the claiming this year is worse than ever. I think just about every promo has the persons age branded in the title, thats not legit, if someone asks in the comment section, thats another story, but don't flaunt it, if your young and you kill, keep it humble. The other thing i've seen quite a bit of is cutting shots to appear as if the rider has landed, but when closely examined you can see there was no hope. This just makes the edit appear weaker every time. So have some pride, if you know you didn't land it, don't try and deceive the rest of us for NS cred. On a positive note people from everywhere are killing it nowadays, so lets all keep it real.
honestly, if the edit is a promo, i really dont see any problem
whatsoever with an age claim. if a company is looking to sponsor some
one, then knowing the age of the rider is probably pretty important.
and
i really dont care about age claims on anything. like in Sean Jordan's
superunknown he age-claimed. i can see why it might bother someone but
it really doesnt bother me at all
one of my good friends, is only 15 probably one of the best smoothest riders. He is almost as tall as me and rides with all older kids, unless you know him you would think he is 18 because he'll never brag aout being 15
haha.. the skiing world is not ready yet for your promo mike. But good call, everyone and their grandmas are littering this site with wack promo videos..
It would be retarded if you didn't put your age in your promo. The company needs info on you.
What you're saying is like saying, "Oh shit, don't put your age down for your care insurance man! That's such a claim!" (not the greatest example, but you get the point) It's info the company should have.
A promo is supposed to shamelessly show yourself off. Not putting impressive elements (young age, techy tricks that you didn't quite land) into your promo would be like leaving off your qualifications on a job resume.
And if you can tell that a trick wasn't landed, a sponsor probably can too. Don't worry about it.
completely agree. if it is a promo, as clarified above to be different from an edit, then you should be doing everything you can to impress the potential sponsor.
A promo should 100% list age. That is a factor that companies look at when deciding to add a rider. If someone is showing great talent at a young age then there is a better chance that they will improve than someone who is 23 and just getting on the scene. Injuries, body conditioning, and physical development are taken into account. companies like to have riders for more than a year or two rather than add and drop kids all the time.
I hate age claims, OMG 14! hes so young and so good! wait he's been skiing just as long as this 19 year old kid too. Age doesn't matter, only thing that is impressive is if they have been skiing for a short time.
