This past weekend we set out to have an epic session despite the fact that everywhere on the east coast is closed. We did some scoping and decided to set up a booter at okemo. We had to sneak around a bit friday to get past the rent-a-cop at the base, but we got ourselves, ski gear, camp gear, and most importantly a keg of keystone up to the midway point of the Nor Easter park. Friday, we spent hours smoothing the bombholes in the landing and building up the lip. There was a 30 foot beater trap of mud and no snow between the meat of the drop in and the tranny of the kicker, that took some work saturday morning.
The 104 Crew showed up from burlington and after a couple hours of shoveling and salting early saturday, a crew gathered at the top of the sketchy as hell drop in ready to session. Skiers included Walker Brown, Hazen Woolson, Sam "Tranny Finder" Barstow, Keenan Hawkins, Eli Sobel, Greg Salonen, Anthony Santos, Wesley Whitaker, and Sarah Scott. For the entire season, guinea pig duties had fallen on Sam. As we were prodding him to drop to find the tranny on the 30ish foot step down we had crafted, he was snaked by Eli who lofted a ballsey backie on the christening hit. After a couple of us pussed out and straight aired on our first hits, Hazen dropped for his and laid out a perfect lincoln loop deep into the landing. Session was on.
The following session included a lot of style, a lot of flips, and some basic gnar shredded. The party on the deck was legit, drunken spectators and filmers had to be constantly asked to get out of the flight path. A small up rail was dug in along with a super kicky lip close to the knuckle. All in all it was a baller as fuck weekend and we would suggest similar trips for your crew if you can work it out.
