Replying to Liberty Helix 189
Bamboo Core, 105mm waist, pretty light, pretty big, really fast, nice flex.
These skis are great. drop into the pow and feel how fast these will charge when you point them infront of you, you will find yourself leaving people in dust really easily (unless you stack loads like me).
My powder skiing is no way up to scratch but when my legs are good and I get it right, these feel so amazing, they turn through the trees and whip around so nicely. the flex is pretty forgiving too and they are great for building confidence.
They have brought out a bigger version called the double helix now which I imagine is more of the same just fatter.
These skis will cope on piste, and they do hold an edge, but the turning radius is slow and they are really quick, so at the end of a tiring day they can be a bit too much hard work on piste.
Another criticism is that the top sheets will chip quite easily if you aren't careful. This is purely cosmetic but it's annoying how many stickers i have used to cover them up!!
Really pleased with them though.
