CU Boulder vs U of Montana

ok so before you say anything let me say something. i have narrowed it down to those two schools. i was accepted to both and i need to tell them by may 1st. i did NOT apply nor do i want to go to MSU, so dont tell me how good of a school it is for skiing. i also am well aware that CU Boulder is the sickest skiing/partying school and the city is amazing. i know that, you dont need to say it. i know the snow bowl isnt the greatest ski resort, but keep in mind i come from vermont. i know there are TONS of hot girls in boulder, i was there last week, and damn,.... but lets face it, im not the most attractive person, and my daddy didnt buy me a BMW, so they wouldnt be interested anyway.
i want to go to school for business, and i was accepted to the business school at UOM, but i was only accepted to the arts and sciences department at boulder. and they said the business school is super competitive and it would be VERY hard to switch into it. so thinking about my future, im leaning toward UOM, but boulder is soooo nice and the skiing is sooo nice and the parties, and denver is legit. but missoula is nice and UOM and boulder both have nice campuses. i donno what to do! and i only have a couple days left to decide!

Go wherever you think is better for your future. You can always transfer if it doesn't work out.

its not that hard to get into the business school at CU you just have to work at it for a year when you first get here. if you take the right classes and get like above a 2.9 then you'll most likely get into it. i say this in lots of threads but after a year of school here at CU i don't think i would ever change my mind. its awesome here and when i checked out schools in montana i felt like they were just kind of dead compared to boulder and there wasn't half as much to do.

transferring is not that hard.  I transfered into the engineering school from Arts and Science and then again back into arts and science haha.  I didn't have the best GPA my freshman year, but it wasn't bad.  Just don't fuck up badly your first year and you should be able to transfer into business pretty easily.

It seems liek you want to go to CU more, go to CU. CU is academically a better school as well, and it shouldn't be as difficult as they say to get into business school.  plus there's a chance you'll change your mind about a business major.  Boulder probably has more connections and opportunities than Montana.  Boulder also is one of the coolest towns I've ever visited.  I'd probably go to Boulder and just work to get into business school if it's important enough to consider going to school in Montana over Boulder just because of it.  Hope that can help

cu is for tools, went to school in missoula for awhile, really sick party scene minus tool factor, but increase hippy factor depending on your scene and friends. business school is really good but not as repped as cu's. what i took away from missoula as far as skiing wise was backcountry. i became a different skier looking at terrain differently, like where to go, how to get in there, what could be done on this natural feature or that one etc. the backcountry is good here and pretty close, with LOTS of snow. lolo still has well over 12 feet of snow off the highway. so if uve narrowed ur choice to those schools i would say missoula, but i did leave for utah cuz nothing really compares to that. also short drives and ski trips from missoula to different areas is easy. and i also have been to boulder for my comparison and it all hype, played out, and like home depot as far as the amount of tools that walk around.

Alright bro heres the deal....

I personally attend Carroll College (helena Montana).  I was in the same situation you were last year...well  kind off. 

I know you dont want this but i am going to say this first off.  Bozeman has far better skiing as far as how close it is.  Missoula and the University itself is a very liberal town so be prepared for that. 

If you are worried about business and your career you might as well go to missoula.  I think it has a pretty good business school, yet what college doesnt.  Its a fun town, yet Snobowl really is not the best.  Yet, if you have a car or a friend drive a couple hour and go to Big Mountain.  Driving the 3 hour back from Helena back home to Big Mountain is something i did a lot this year.
