Canon HV10 camcorder what do you think

I use an HV20 which is the same chip and everything, so it will get more or less the same picture quality. You may want to look for an hv20/30 because those have the option of progressive frame rates.

Hv20 having 24p and the HV30 has 24p and 30p But, hv10 has nice picture, especially if you are going to be shooting in a more or less automatic mode. The form is probably better than the 20 or 30 for ski filming.
I guess i'm indecisive, but i'd say you'll be happy with the choice.

im still new to hd.. whats the dif & advantage of progressive frame rates

HV10 is a quality cam for your basic hd needs..the picture is great.. I personally just bought the canon hv20 because it has a little bit more manual to it and i liked the size a little bit more.  I made a decent handle for it..the hv10 is just built funny in my opinion but it sure puts out a nice picture!

My friend and I use a Canon HG10 and it cranks out amazing HD video. You might wanna check it out, its definitely worth it.

Progressive is in my opinion is better for sports. Know how the old TV's flicker, and you can see the lines? It's cause in interlaced video, the screen refreshes every other line from top to bottom. Progressive, on the other hand, refreshes one by one from side to side. Frame by frame editing, and catching snapshots from video is better with progressive.

I'm buying the HV30 because of the 30p. It's not often you find a consumer camcorder with 30p capabilities.
