If you have nothing to do this weekend and enjoy watching skateboarding, 3rd Lair is hosting it's annual Top Shop contest this weekend on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
If you don't know... Top Shop is a contest very similar to King of the Hill where every shop (and skatepark) can enter a team of 5 skaters and basically the best team wins a lot of money.
The cool thing is that it is also a tradeshow. Different clothing, hardgoods, and shoe vendors will be there with their products on display. I checked out Osiris holiday shoes yesterday (which will be on display at Top Shop) and they are pretty fresh - mos def worth checking out!
Top Shop competitors come from all over the nation and the event has grown to be very large within the skateboard industry. Also, there will be live entertainment and trivia games (with prizes) Friday and Saturday night.
Last year - if I am not mistaken - there was roughly 40 competing teams and Pinewski's took 11th. We are entering again this year and anticipate making the top 10; it would be rad if everyone came to support the Pinewski's skateboard team.
