Final Cut Express 4

Alright i searched and didnt find anything useful. Who here uses final cut express 4 and what do you think of it? Is it relatively simple to use with some time in it? Would anyone recommend adobe over it? Im looking for an editing program thats decent but not gonna put a big dent in my wallet and just wondering what kids making edits on here think of the program.

i just switched to final cut express after years of using adobe premiere 6.0.  Definitely go with final cut, the interface is so user friendly and intuitive.  On my first edit with it I was using effects that i had struggled to make work in adobe.  Make sure you get or it comes with LiveType as well for making titles

its pritty simple making your desion
if u have a mac get final cut
if u have a pc get premier

final cut dosnt work with pc and premier dosnt work with mac unless u have a new intelbased mac

final cut is a great transition because if you have ever used i movie you can take the step easy. it even opens your projects from i movie. i have been learning on final cut for some time just teaching myself and making loads of silly mistakes but it works for me now. i just found out there is a tutorial dvd that my friend has and he said it helped alo here is the link http://www.kenstone.net/fcp_homepage/review_fce_dft_tutorial.html. i think the worst thing is about premiere is you have to run windows and nothing should ever make you use windows. ever.

I read some review that said Final Cut express didnt except the format of this guys normal household camera, an AVCHD HV20. I'm not technological savy, at all, but right now my plan is to pick up the POV1 helmet cam, does anyone know if the format will be alright the helmet cam shoots at 30 fps, might be a rather specific or stupid question but if anyone has an answer id appreciate and thanks for the responses already been real helpful.

Um final cut is NOTHING like imovie are you kidding me??


And who buys final cut? Just download a torrent and get a serial, its kinda tough and may take awhile but its worth it, i have final cut studio 2 (final cut 6) its amazing.

as long as you import or capture via firewire from a digi tape it should work, but dont hold me to that.

that cam didnt work because AVC is a new format and he was probably running an older version of final cut that came out before the AVC technology.

and an HV20 is not AVCHD, its HDV. so it does work on final cut.

both programs are dominant in the business and are both similar and very easy to use.  I personally have used both and I like final cut better.  Just easier and more innovative to use.  But if you know what your doing, their both advanced softwares.

Yah when i do get my hands on final cut i'll either do alota work with the tutorial or go to one of the instructional things at a mac store
