STH 16 vs. 916

I am looking for bindings to put on my Hellbents. Hellbents are not exactly the lightest skis out there so I would like to make up for that a little bit in the bindings. I would like something with a 16 DIN wich is why I am looking at these two bindings. I want something that will be super durable. I know the 916's are bomber but the STH's are lighter as far as I've heard. How much lighter are they and how is their durability compared to 916's or other all metal bindings?

STH16 weight 1130 grams each while 916 is approximately a pound more. Unfortunately i haven't tried STH16 yet (but will try them out in 2 weeks). However i'm on Salomon bindings for ages and regular 914 proved themeselves as very reliable option, even being much less robust than 916 heelpiece-wise (STH16 have the same if not better crafted metal tracks for wormscrew forward pressure adjustment on the heelpiece as 916). I've never seen plastic wings or heelpiece parts on Solly's  broken so i'd say STH16 are just as durable as 916.
Jesters are a bit heavier than STH 16 and there were some cases of AFD plate cracked (search here or tgr for details). Other than that, in general they seem to be a great option as well, so you can decide by price.

Unless you're a beast, you'll probably have no problems with STH16s. I've used both can't really tell too much of a difference. I just have a bunch of stockpiled 916s so I always use those.

I've been riding STH16's on my PC's for a few months. I started out on 12, and they were basically flawless until a week ago. They started to come off when I land switch off big jumps, so I cranked them to 14 and tightened the wings again. They're a good binding, but they aren't going to be as reliable as the S916. I'm 6' and weigh 150, and i am not easy on equipment. They are REALLY light though, and they should last me a while longer so I would recommend them.
