in order to not re-issue a season pass that was stolen back in january and was used twice by the rightful owner. meaning it didnt even pay for itself; resulting in the entire fuck up of a year.
and a kid wasting 420 dollars.

you do know that you can get a new pass for free in the pass office, and the other one would be canceled, right?

the answer i got from them:
"if you want a new pass you have to sue the kid that stole your pass."

Just say you lost it...then the other one wouldn't work.  I have done it many times after losing mine or having a friend lose one.

They have done that for years. If your pass gets taken and someone one else uses it, then you have to press charges against them to get it back. It shouldn't have taken your friend any time besides some paper work. Vail Resorts and other places do this so that you can't loan a pass to a friend, then get it taken, then just a get a new one.

It seems far more logical and less douchebaggery than most of their other policies.

^I just called the Ski Co. and the official word is that they treat lost or stolen passes the SAME, no pressing of charges nessecary. Maybe things are a little more laid back away from the interstate, or there is more to this story. I think our season passes are about three times more expensive though...Vail still sucks.

I don't know why every one is always ragging on Vail. I work for them they treat me better than a lot of  other big company's treat their employees.

Plus so far this year I have gotten 7 new passes, I really don't see why you are having a problem with this, just say you lost it, give them some ID, then BAM your all set 2min later they hand you a new one, at the ticket counter.

Me too. It cancels the other one, don't worry about it. The pass gets paid off in like a week anyway.

Word, Vail is sick its just that most people don't spend the time there.  Either that or they have some experience where they have their pass stolen and rather than just say it was lost or whatever, they go fucking whine about it instead of asking for a new one.  Oh and while im on that point, I would advise you against using a friends pass (the people that scan sometimes recieve extra pay for catching you).  Honestly, I don't know how many passes ive replaced, its the easiest shit to do on the computers.
