I just got back from a Hot Chip concert. Before tonight I listened to them occasionally and always really liked their music but I wouldn't have considered them one of my favorite bands. Now I do. Their album tracks do not do them justice at all. I go to a lot of concerts, and this one was possibly the best I've ever seen. For real. These guys are fucking mind-blowing live. I know this is kinda a pointless thread but I just wanted to spread the word. If Hot Chip comes to your city, go to see them. You won't be disappointed.
I have some of their stuff and listen to it once in a while but It get boring becasue its so slow. They can be alright at times. Im glad you had fun though
havent seen them live, but i like their music a lot. i think theyre comign to montreal, it might have happened already though.
on a side note, see Steve Aoki if you guys have the chance. hes more eletro. i dont mean to jack this thread, but that was the best concert i had been to.
ye man i was there it was april 15 at metropolis. yes they are sick live, great performers. personally though I like their sound on the album better because it seems a little smoother and more natural. live they sounded a lot more synthed and played more electro-sounding versions of their recorded stuff which isnt my preferred style
on a side note i took a look at their tour scheduleand they're playing a show in a different city almost every single night this month. fuckin maniacs. makes the performance that much more impressive
Yea that's kinda how I was too before this concert. Their live stuff is a lot faster and more intense though. Even their really mellow songs pound pretty hard when they play them live. There are some pretty decent videos on youtube if you feel like checking it out. Even though youtube vids never really do a band justice, you can get a feel for what their sound is like when they play live because its totally different from their album tracks.
