So I see all these hate threads on NS and Im rather confuzzled cos I am pretty much smitten by skiing. Even on the shittiest of shitty days (and Im from Australia so I can tell you A LOT about shit snow days), I still have a blast. And when the good days come around, it makes everything so much more awesome and special.
So what this thread is dedicated to is the things about skiing that make you forget about 'how gay no poles is', 'how lame tight pants are', 'how overplayed switch 10s are' or whatever it is that makes you hate and not love this fucking sick sport.
My list reads:
-powder days when everyone on the hill has a big shiteating grin on their face and you can walk up to randoms and high five and be like 'FUCK YEAH BRO! THIS SNOW IS THE FUCKING BALLS!!!'
-faceshots when the super dry blower pow hits you in the back of the throat and you almost choke, but in that moment you realise that youve just scored a faceshot and launch into the next turn.
-feeling the butterflies in your stomach as you drop into a jump/rail/cornice/cliff
-feeling more stoked than anything when you ride out after stomping that new trick.
-watching really little kids shredding and being just as stoked as I am
-watching really old people taking it easy and being totally in love with skiing.
My main one is that fact that I havent seen a summer in 5 years, Im whiter than a KKK member and I still cant think of a reason to have a summer....
