Replying to Another park binding topic...
I know there´s about seven thousand park binding topics out there and before someone comes wining i have used the searh bar.. I just haven´t found the answer to my questions...
So I´m about 5'10''ish and 170lbs average type skier.. Skiing mostly in the park but also litlle powder and trees.. So the binding should be good in the park and for jibbing and buttering... So obviously it should be as light as possible.. But also durable, cause I´m still growing and want to hit the big kickers too.. And easy to ride switch.
First of all I don´t know very much about bindings because it´s four years since I last bought bindings... So my about four year old Look´s (don´t know what model, but it has the rotating heel piece) have at least been very durable, but I feel they´re too heavy (or then it´s because of my old K2 Public Enemys..) for jibbing.. So now that I´m buying new park/jib skis (Line Invader) I thought I´ll buy new lighter bindings at the same time..
My Look´s DIN has always been just 5,5-6 and never pre-released, so I don´t think I´ll need very high DIN so I can get lighter bindings..
So I was thinking of Salomon STH 12.. When I read these forums I noticed there´s two groups: the ones who like em, and the ones who don´t... So I´d like to hear experiences from someone who has skied like over 50-100 days, to know how durable they really are. At least I know they´re light, so they would be good for jibbing/buttering?
And also thought of these two bindings: Dynastar/Look PX 12 TI Jib and Marker Jester.
But I heard so many durability issues with Marker Jester, so that I´m litlle afraid of buying them..
The STH12 I would get with a fairly cheap price so I´d like to go with them, but how durable they are?
Thanks in advance.
I´m from Finland so sorry for my bad english....
