so i know that most people notice news articles when the title contains something you know of or that means something to you.
i noticed that i had an anchorage daily news update, with the name alyeska in it. at first i was excited, hoping for an extention on the closing date, thinking i could maybe get to do some spring skiing when i got home from MT, but then i saw the word 'fatal'. that put a damper on my sudden esctatic feeling.
apparently, .John Nicoletta, 26, of Aspen, Colorado, who was an athlete in the Subaru Freestyle world championships, was skiing a section of headwall, for all ya'll ak skiers, and went off a cliff, didnt land it, and ended up falling into a bunch of rocks, dieing instantly.
basically, the purpose of me sharing this tragic news is to all of you innocent skiiers it to imform you that everyone is human, and this guy should be remembered for the impact he has had on some skiers.
also, this just goes to prove to all the skeptics out there, but alaska is deadly!
