i rented it from blockbuster- yeah newschool skiing is sick but that shit would make me crap my pants- made me feel kinda gay on double diamonds in PA-ive now realizzed htat powder and steep skiing is more fun 4 me then rails and jumps- love em both though
So, i just got done watching this movie. I suggest everyone watches it, park rat, bc slayer or just plain ole everything dude. Gives a great history of Big mnt skiing. Some of the lines these guys slay early on are just plain crazy, lines that will make you piss your pants. I was actually nervous sitting there watcing it. Go rent it, it is a great flick.
i thought it was an okay movie, i thought it did a good job introducing a lot of things but it didn't really expand on any of the points it set up. but i liked the emphasis on doug coombs, he's totally the man, RIP doug, i feel as though he's one of the biggest contributors to this sport, because sure he didn't start it but he kind of took it from something that crazy germans did to a tangible sport
Steep is a movie every skier needs to see. It really shows the roots of real skiing. Its more of a documentary type film but its awesome. Everyone go see it.
The whole mountaineering aspect just takes it to a different level. Unbelievable. Also, think how much poon those guys were runnin' through in like '87.
yea i saw it in march. it was epic. i couldnt agree more with what u said in the description. it made big mountain skiing seem so much more badass. and i liked how it was more of a documentary kinda thing, as opposed to most other ski movies.
you needed to see a movie to tell that skiing big mountains is 100% more badass that any trick thrown down in your terrain park at the bottom of the hill?????
i just saw it again at a friends house and all i can say is wow again- respect for those guys is amazing- thank god I might be going for 2 years to work all over europe- thank u best buy!
It's also a good movie to get your parents to watch if they are having trouble understanding why you unconditionally love skiing, even with the dangers it--particularly big mountain--presents. I know I have that problem with my parents as they are constantly questioning why time and time again I go into the backcountry after loosing friends to the mountains. They kind of got it after seeing Steep.
