What are Elizabeths like in the Park?

Basically there always seems to be loads of posts about the Elizabeth asking this and that. so this is a thread all about them!
About me: I'm 20 and 5'8 or 5'9 and about 135 pounds - I ski Switzerland and Colorado.. 60% BC 30% Park and 10% Piste.. Skiing for 15 years roughly 6 weeks a season plus snowdome visits..

Line Elizabeths - 139-110-137 - 172cm long - 45mm tip and tail... boot centre = -2.. very little camber..
I ride these skis all over the hill (although I do use volkl walls from time to time) and i'm gonna attempt to get down all the good and bad points and who I think i would recommend this ski for..

Piste: I really love these skis on groomers if the snow is anything but super hard pack.. They carve a nice turn for a fatty and are pretty nimble for a fat ski.. They aren't the fastest ski but you can push them pretty hard..

Moguls: Ok this really isn't home territory for the Lizzies but they are manageable.. The shortish length and soft flex makes up for the width.. By no means a mogul ski but if you venture in to moguls once in a while they won't kill you..

Jumps (Park): Super stable on takeoff and landing.. not bad swing weight.. not for fast spinny types but nice for slow steezy spins.. in honesty I'm not a great jump skier so i can't really guarantee this but they are really nice for slow 180s, 360s and 5s.. you can carve nicely in to spins as well but my corks suck so..

Rails/Boxes: I have only been skiing rails for a bit but these skis are amazing, i been on anthems and my volkl walls on rails and these are just as good.. the width makes them really stable to land on.. and you can spin them around ok too.. although they obviously aren't the most nimble.. for the hardcore rail hiking days I take the Walls because they are more nimble and i like to protect the Elizabeths cos they are my baby..

Pow: For pure pow skiing these skis are really good for me but i'm light and pretty short.. The width and flex make them really really good for me in powder up to a few feet but for a taller heavier skier they might not be ideal.. The tips will dive if you get too far forward although this has only happened to me once.. If you were significantly bigger than me then this would be more of a problem.. If i lived in a powder area i would get EP pros or similar but for most this ski is perfect in powder..

Jumps (BC) and cliff drops: OK this is for me where these skis excel.. So stable on takeoff and landing and so nimble,so easy to line up for hits on.. yeah if you are skiing 4 feet of fresh you probably want something reverse camber but for most this ski will be perfect.. i love love love these for pillow lines and drops.. popped a pillow to switch and rode it out.. my BC days on these have been my best days skiing ever.. the only draw back is the potential for tip dive if you land way far forward but this is true of any regular camber ski..

Who would i recommend this ski to? I guess that depends on the use.. I bought the Elizabeth as my powder ski but it has become my all mountain ski, my every day ski.. If you are about my size or smaller (5'8-9, 135 for those who are skim reading) then this ski will kill it all over the mountain and be great in pow.. this is a great all mountain ski for the west coast.. I would also say it would be a great park ski for anyone under 6 foot/ under 150 pounds, who likes a wider ski wherever they be from.. the only time you wont want to use it is on ice days.. You have to be a pretty good skier to ski these skis though.. It is more for the relaxed skier than an aggressive skier.. I love this ski more than i've ever loved a ski before (wow ski love) and really recommend it to anyone who skis similar to me..


i think you will be fine with being able to throw them around....they may be a little small for you, but thats just me talking.

Yeah probably, and if I really need to I'll get another pair, I just wanted to do some research first. I saw your post earlier, but you never mentioned 7s or anything larger in there. Have you tried them on lizzys or just up to 5s?

im 6'3 and 180pounds, too big for for elizabeths right?

yea probably too big, sfbs are the same ski as lizzies just 5mm wider and 10 cm longer though

i know someone who can switch ten those badliars over a 35 footer and make it look ill as fuck.

not necassarily pollards your size, i just doubt pollard really skis all that much pow on them, ive heard a couple people your size say they wished the skis were bigger in powder but did really like them besides powder in the trees and such.

seeing as i live in australia powder days dont come all that often max of 5 a year so im more after a ski thats not to stiff to fool around on. other ski is an 05 PE

Haha, you copy and pasted that straight out the review of these skis.  Seems like Reviews would be a good place to go if I had questions about a ski.

sickest skis for park i've ever tried.

yeah way to big, your just like me just a little smaller. im 6'5 190 and wish they made lizzies in 184 or 185cm......but from what i hear and read about the bacons are the "big dudes lizzies". even tho they arnt symmetrical like the elizabeths.

i feel a big guy like me or you could rock the bacons in the park.

no reason to get lizzies just for park but if your going to be doing a little bit of everything then get them.

no but they are 139 - 110 - 137 which is so close you cant tell..

ok i live in oregon and we got a sick winter. i rode my elizabeths every single day. they are one of the BEST all mountain skis i've rode(personal prefrence), but for switch up on rails and spinning off of big booters they aren't the ski for you. going from a light park specific ski e.i. invader or anthem there is a huge jump in wieght. to sum it all up...great all mountain, but in areas of the park the elizabeth might wiegh you down.

even if they were 139-110-139 they still wouldn't be symmetrical, because the narrowest part of the ski is still 2cm back from center

Okay guys are they to big for me? 5'2 and 95lbs i ski 65% park and 35%pow (this season i wasnt that lucky) i need info now, i have a deal and they guy has a buyer and i need to know!

I'd say 172 is a bit big for you. And shorten your signature, it's a bit annoying.

wow you are really small
when i was 5'2 i skied a 155, and now i'm 5'10 and i ski a 172, so yes, the lizzies are 'a touch' too big for you

mount them center and they will ski shorter
