i would absolutely love to see a movie with these angles.
idk if u can tell but they all use lines and cables that hold a camera man in the air and he floats in the air while moving obtaining a really good shot.
idk if this is the right place to post this but yea.
Nothing wrong with posting anything in here. Especially if its Mack Dawg. DOS loves Mack Dawg, and the Mack Puppies.
Yes they use some cable cams, which is actually just the camera strapped to a device on a cable that is controlled by a remote. You can actually make one with a basic remote control car motor. We are planning on making one this summer :). And yes mack dawg is very very very good at filming. There are a couple cable shots in Eeros part of FMA (which is the teaser you posted)...
mack dawgs an absolute pioneer. the stuff they did in picture this was incredible. they misused there riders though which is where i think you guys can pick up maybe?
i hate to sound like i know what im tlaking about because i dont, but in picture this instead of throwing Luoma in the night pow section i would have really liked to see them get andreas or a bigger more intriguing rider.
i for one love any camera angle that is above the skier/snowboarder/subject, whatever.. Like the boom shot of tanner's like switch 5 in WSKI, if anyone knows what im talkin about, and when level one did that keystone shoot in LSS, they did a shot like that in there except on a table and they used a scissor lift or something.
holy fuck that clip that DOS posted was absolutely masterful. That last shot on the crane where it was obviously remote controlled, he NAILED IT!!!. His use of the cranes and their movement is fucking rediculous.
or perhaps rigging cable cam posts to a huge dolly, then have the dolly move one direction while the camera moves the exact opposite direction AT THE SAME SPEED.
bring a huge and beautiful aquarium to the spot, put the camera in an underwater housing, submerge the camera, then shoot the trick with all sorts of nautical critters in the foreground! Talk about Planet Earth!
i think this has to be the best idea i have heard ever!
You can also go to the zoo, steal some tigers and shit, pick up some buffalo from wyoming and montana and just throw them in the foreground of the shot as well... maybe on the other side of the aquarium. Think of it, a shark eating something with a buffalo behind it and a tiger sleeping on the side... good stuff.
That would be a very interesting movie. Very exotic. Maybe a shark tank filled with sharks and a flaming hoop for people to go through. The tigers get to ski too, for def.
